When my daughter began selecting a college, I realized I would need a part-time job to help cover tuition. Initially, I considered working at a local department store, but another idea began brewing for additional income. With over 30 years of experience singing and performing, I thought perhaps voice lessons could be a valuable offering. I asked a close friend for feedback, and she thought it was a great idea, sparking the foundation for Dencie Lee School of Performing Arts, LLC. I started teaching voice lessons from my home with four students and quickly saw a demand for piano lessons, so I expanded the offerings to include seven students in the next session.

After about four years, our growing enrollment meant my home was no longer sufficient, and we moved into one of the buildings at Maranatha Church. As the demand for lessons continued to grow, I hired another instructor to keep up with the expansion. Our success was a testament to the need in our community, and we soon outgrew that space as well.

Today, we have a beautiful 5,000 square foot facility on Interstate 10 and a dedicated staff of 11 instructors. We serve students of all ages, starting at 2 years old, with a diverse range of classes, including art, drawing, dance, drums, guitar, piano, theater arts, voice, video editing, and academic tutoring. Our mission extends beyond providing fine arts instruction and academic support—we aim to foster an environment that nurtures creativity, growth, and learning. We don’t just teach; we inspire.
